Thanks aj, i think I bought it right. Nice feathers on the reverse thats why I pulled the trigger.

 

Yes, Even I can see, thats a very sharp strike on that coin. eye appeal.

 

nice chest... we really need more coins like this now.

 

I couldn't find any distinguishing features to attribute it any farther than just a nice 1817 Bust Half. I've always wanted to cherrypick a nice 1817 with the broken I in the motto, but never had any luck.

Looks to be an O-111 R1 coin, nice strong details. I can not see if there is a die crack from top of CA down across arrowheads and leaves to the top of the U.(kinda follows the lower rim)

The 1807, 1817 ad 1818 dates have something about them. I 'need' to get one.
What is your opinion of the toning? i am asking to educate myself really; to me it seems quite original.

Nice half and as per usual Jim nailed the attribution in my opinion.

 

Eduard, it is very original and has that perfect dovetail tone that you want in an old half.
