The 14-D's were doggy, the ones I could afford at least. I am after one more, then calling it a night.
#479 looked to be an exceptional coin, and it wen't solid. Beyond my budget tho. Good eye Tom Someone ripped lot #511, a 32-D in 67 Red for 25% of book.....but you have to wonder, those that saw it did not bid, must be a reason. that coin would net you 200% on the bay.
I bid on lots 700 and 701, lost both rainbow toned Liberty Nickels. I have only one lot left coming up soon.
Overall, I though prices were very strong for strong material. Those with reserves out of reality range did not sell. Poor coins sold for poor prices. Wheres the bloodbath marketcrash doomsday I have been reading about? I saw nothing of the sort. Good luck with the next one Paul:smile
Well I won the lot with no additional bids in the live auction. I know this is not true but it seems like the auctioneer always presses the bids on your lot. After she couldn't get anymore bids, she said "that is a good price for that coin". I could be just paranoid, but she seemed distressed that the coin didn't go for more. Overall though Jack, I agree, high quality eye appealing coins are still bringing very strong prices.
Good to hear. You know the sad thing? We are missing the poker game right now. I am sure Rick and Charmy are probably blinding in right about now, talking about the night and the action. Will be interesting to hear from them, what they thought.
