These are all coins that I inherited about 10 years ago, along with the 1872 IHC I already posted about. Any help in grading these would be greatly appreciated. Coins go in this order -1889 Morgan dollar -1854 Liberty seated half dime -1868 Shield Nickle -1882 Indian Head cent -1856 Large Cent (Braided Hair)
Nice collection. IMHO I think these are: -1889 Morgan dollar looks to me as a AU-55 -1854 Liberty seated half dime (VF-XF) Reverse Rim Ding does not help this coin -1868 Shield Nickle - XF deep scratches on Reverse (may cause it to NET VF) -1882 Indian Head cent - (XF-AU) Need better photos -1856 Large Cent (Braided Hair) (F-VF) Get an ANA Grading Standards Book to help. Up close and personal with a good reference book is the best grading. Always watch for the blemishes as these will mount up on your coin when attempting to grade it.
The Morgan is definitely AU: You can see wear on the eagle's breast feathers may be the picture, but your half dime looks kinda like it's been cleaned... I don't know what to say about the other coins... some pretty coins though
I like the 1868 Shield Nickel. Too bad the reverse is scratched (vandalized). There are several broken letters on the reverse. The letters were broken on the hub so the letters were broken on the dies and on all coins struck from those dies. Your coin appears to Variety 4 (per the Cherrypicker's Guide).
