OK, still only a drawing, but not black and white.

ice Just happy to be here

Since I am from Kentuck and have seen the cabin in person I kind of like it but where are the trees that are all over the place over there? I hope they release it here first I'll be there to get some. Ice

I think the consensus will say, they'll be lucky to pull off the amount of design they've got without adding trees. Might make it hard to read the words too. It may be more realistic but I think they'd be distracting to the design.

  5. Well.

This is still better than the '09 Sac reverse...

I like it, and it will certainly add a bit of variation to the collection :smile

This design of Lincoln's birth is my least favorite of the 4 new designs. While I love the story that an American President can be born in a log cabin from humble roots and become one of the greatest Presidents ever, this design is boring.

Are these reverses going to be a one year issue? What's to come after these? A new obverse?

Single year issues. Same obverse and new reverse for 2010.

When you say that there will be a new reverse for 2010, do you mean that the lincoln memorial reverse is being discontinued?

That's what I understand. You might want to check the legislation on that. It could be open ended like the obverse is for the National Park Quarters.

Each new reverse will be issued only for a 3-month period. The 2009 Cents will be issued in three varieties each - Copper plated Zinc, Copper alloyed with Tin and Zinc, and Proof (metallic composition unspecified) - a total of 12 cents collectable for the year. After that, in 2010, there will be a new reverse with the Memorial reverse being discontinued.

I think it would have been a cool idea to make a large dollar coin out of cooper that looks like the current penny. 100 years of the current one cent design equals 1 dollar/ :p

1 Dollar copper coin sound great! but I sure it would not happen it would interfere with the President & Sac's
    But a great idea!
