    You are right, when the goal is huge and the notes come around only so often, sometimes you have to be prepared to extend your range somewhat!

    Silly as that sounds, for me, acquiring the entire set of Small Size NY notes from 1928 to present in denominations from $1-$100 is indeed a huge goal and when I see a note that I am missing well, I try to get it if possible.

    There is indeed other folks out there trying to do the same thing and sometimes bidding is pure strategy to say the least!

    I was going for 8 notes on the Auction but got beaten out by someone who wanted a Series 1963A $5 Star at almost 20 x face. The note was PGM 65 and for me when I get that close I will often let it go due to a little higher grade will show up for the same $$$ in most cases in the lower denominations.

    The important thing is to record what you have when you get it so as not to create duplicates, which in itself can be costly. Hope this sheds some ight on it??
