What's to avoid here. . . what is hurtful and harmful and damaging? Any stories of bad experiences would be helpful!
PVC albums, flips etc. Things made out of PVC. Just because they are cheap for the short term doesn't mean they are good in the long term. And yes, they are nasty as they can cover your coin with green ugly stuff.
One thing to avoid is, This is not about storage but about being careful with copper esp. proofs. Whenever working with copper esp. proofs when they are to be reholdered or slabbed and you have the coin sitting out - the worst thing you can do is cough or even talk. It is true that one little droplet of spit can land on the coin and not show up for several years and that coin can easily be ruined. Ben
and i was told that storing in tin or cardboard(like a shoebox) is bad. i was recomended tuperware containers.
Storing your Chain cents in a mayonnaise jar buried in the back yard... except you forgot the mayonnaise jar. :headbang:
what's.................................... ............i'd NEVER recommend storing them in a bucket of rock salt!
