A cpuple of days ago, I was thinking about what seems like some animosity towards the coin (perhaps taken out on the Chi-Rho) and thought of the scene in the Steve Martin movie "The Jerk" where the guy is shooting at him but hitting oil cans and Steve says "He hates these cans" except in this situation it's "he hates this coin"
