So just getting into collecting... have a bunch of 40% silver halves, was looking at storing them in coin tubes... problem is... where do I find them reasonably cheap?

Dont see alot of coin shops by me... any of the big box stores carry them?

Ordering online would just rape me on shipping.

I have never found any coin supplies except coin folders in anything but a coin store.

If you order online, you save on sales tax.

And if you buy them in a brick and mortar store you pay 5 or 6 times as much as you would buying them on-line.

And not everybody rapes you on shipping. Try JP's Corner - best prices I have seen, great service and very reasonable shipping.

I've found some really great deals on coin tubes and other various collecting supplies at coin shows. No shipping and the prices are cheap because many of the dealers do not have a lot of overhead compared to a coin shop.

amazon has boxs of 100 round tubes

edit: no clue how good they are, I prefer the square tubes.

I use JPs Corner also for supplies. They are great people and ship your items very quickly.

I use Wizard coin supply exclusively. I've made several large orders with them and never had a problem. I think they have a great selection, especially of the Intercept Shield products.

Not true. If the dealer is in the same state as you are, you are supposed to pay sales taxes. If you haven't, it will eventually be caught.

And as noted: Try www.brent-krueger.com, very reasonable prices......I buy the majority of my stuff from here.....

I've never tried them but have heard for years they are the most reliable and the cheapest.

Thanks for the ideas about coin shows. I am just getting back into active collecting after collecting sports cards a while ago.

    Question...

Any brands, CoinSafe or Numis better than others? Also, was looking at round tubes... but did end up going with square ones to stack....

    any thoughts on them?

I just bought a couple Danscos from http://www.brent-krueger.com/ and the shiping was great. Actually for 3 books it was the lowest shipping I've ever seen.
