I've sent seller a message indicating all 4 of the offered Barber dimes are fakes, including this 1893-O. I haven't looked at the other coins yet, but they may be fakes across the board.
Quizzing a seller on eBay about Morgans and I suspect he is selling fake Morgans anyone suspect eBay is allowing this to happen?
No it's up to the sellers to know what there selling is real or fake and up to us to report and stop any suspicious items on the bay.
My experience has been that eBay drags their feet on this issue, even after an item has been reported as fake. It's usually not until they've received a rash of reports that these fakes finally come down. I think it's because they don't have anyone on staff who can authenticate for them before doing so. They must feel safe enough delisting only after the market repeatedly tells them an item is fake.
Agreed. It's exceptionally frustrating when the fake is obvious; for example, Queen Victoria on the obverse of a 1902-dated crown when she died in 1901!
I'm with blademan37 on this one. I would be very hesitant to purchase American coinage from a Asian country.
Austria is in central Europe and I can assure you there are more fakes of American coins in the US than in the EU ;-)
I have taken a pic of the group of dollars I sent. One is significantly smaller than the rest. About 1/2 the others in Silver/Copper. I will send pic tomorrow but have we had any other distinguished from one solid to another in the same lot. Anyone please
