And this one's interesting because the two A's in the two serial numbers are in different typefaces. The one on the left is more common for later blocks like the U..A; the one on the right, with the flat top and higher crossbar, is typical for early blocks of the 1928 series but is getting somewhat uncommon by this late in the alphabet. Mismatches of A styles like this aren't too hard to find in the Woods-Mellon series, but it's still kind of neat to find the two different versions on the same note. (The flat-top "early A" is actually rather scarce in Woods-Mills and later signatures, though it's been sighted as late as Julian-Vinson....)

Price for this note was listed at $40 by a dealer I do business with on a very regular basis. He gave me a little discount - I think he was just happy to see me buy something other than a 656 note... Wow! Twenty-six 1's or ONE's. The BEP really wanted to make sure no one was mistaken about the value of this.

Yes all the 1's really are something else - it's still a cool design even with the overemphasises of the the value.
