I found this 95 p dime the other afternoon and just to look at it tonight but it seems like a error the damage that's visible appears to be perfectly along the coin the c on America has a perfect blend from the rim to the letter ?? What ya think?
That is one beat up dime! It's what is coined as (no pun intended) DefDam... Definitely Damaged. ~Rob
Well I'm a gonna keep it around cause it's a wierd looking dime and that's the fun of doing this good hobbie pass time and going blind looking at change lol thanks for your quick replies and the knowledge I'll get one I promise a error coin I'll find thanks ....
Just be sure to keep a note with the coin identifying it as post-mint damage (PMD). Otherwise, 50 years from now your heirs and our heirs are going to get into an argument with your heirs maintaining that you wouldn't have kept it if it wasn't valuable.
If you want more weird looking dimes like that put some on your lawn and run them over with the lawn mower. You might see some striking similarities.
Welcome to CT @Micky. As already mentioned, your dime is just PMD, and a lot of it, so NAV, No Added Value. In fact, I'm pretty sure most machines would reject it, and CoinStar would spit it out faster than a bullet. Keep looking. Oh, and by the way, please post photos Full Image next time so it is easier to view. Thanks.
@Micky ...Welcome to Coin Talk. Forum members never know a new member’s expertise level until they’ve been around posting a while, so if you are looking for error coins, go to error-ref.com and find out what real errors are. Your dime is nowhere near an error, you might say it is an anti-error(!)...just damaged...Spark
Welcome to CT Sorry the news about your dime wasn't better, but then . . .just keep looking. You will be rewarded.
