Hi everyone, I took the day of from work. I wanted to spend some time with my daughter since she hasn't tried the Metal Detector I got her months ago! My best find was a 1944 Wheat Cent She did well. Maybe about $2.00 in clad and Cents. We added them all together. Barbie Mermaid - I gave her lessons 4 hours together.. Not bad Some gold color ring
What a nice trip to bring the daughter with. I wish my father had an interest in these things, but I am on my own
Hey Paddy, way to go. Some nice days to remember. Your daughter is much prettier & smarter than you even with the face mask. Where's yours ? Dave
NYC Beaches are very packed during the summer so the coins and miscellaneous metals are plentiful. I do very well each year.. The following represent some of my many different beach hunts done alone. Average of 6 hours per hunt..
It started off cold below 40F.. The wind chill makes it feel much cooler. But after a few hours the temp went up and we felt comfortable. The wind picked up a bit and my daughter was amazed how coins were left exposed and sitting on top of the sand.
You are so lucky to be able to have a hobby that both of you can share. But, alas, My two daughters are in their 50's now and have families and jobs of their own. My mother told me long ago, "When they are little, they step on your toes, and when they are grown, they step on your heart." Best of luck with your daughter. (And nice going on your "hunt".
What a wonderful day in the neighborhood. Just me and you and a dog named boo, just a pun. Father daughter bonding ain't it great! Enjoyed the post, thank you.
I think she gave you lessons . . . in how to dress for a cold day. LOL Great way to spend time together. I bet she will want to go more often now that she has experienced it. BTW, what is the object that appears to be a lighter or small container. And to say you went to the beach and found a real mermaid, is priceless. LOL
A torch lighter. It has a small cigar punch that flips out on the bottom. The real experience my daughter will have is at parks where she will have to dig!
