Hi folks, I've been going through a big collection and came across this one, it looks like a Serbian/Yugoslavian coin, but I can't find it anywhere on google. Does anyone know what it is?
That is a Bulgarian coin from the early 20th century. It is from a period during which the country was monarchy. The characters are in Cyrillic. It says - 2 ЛЕВА. That is Bulgarian currency.
Ahh, I see! That's interesting, thanks. The coin design is a bit similar to Serbian coins of the same time period that's why I got confused! One of the Serbian coins in the collection:
They were struck in Belgium or France, depending on MM or no MM https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces7702.html
I can read some Cyrillic since it is derived from Greek. The obverse says, "Alexander I. King of Serbia, Croatia, and Slovenia". The denomination is 2 Dinars.
I didn't know what about the Paris/Brussels mint. v interesting. I'm guessing that explains why "A Patey" is seen on so many of these coins
thanks! The camera setup I use was inspired by this thread: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/advanced-coin-photography.362765/
