Those dies were really worked over. But she's got everything in the right places, a lovely coin.

Thank you! The sellers pictures weren't very clear. The NGC pictures looked real good. I was hoping the coin didn't change since slabbed. When I opened the box I was hoping it would come out looking just like this.

The crazy thing, I wanted this coin but figured it would go over 5. I was just trying to run the bid up. And won it. I couldn't even get it to 400... I think it deserved to go that high...

Wow. I know the FSB designation is tough on 1945 dimes, but does that apply to the branch mint coins like this, as well, or only the Philly issues?

From what I see these are worth twice what a Denver of a similar grade. I do believe I found an article once but can't find it again that told why these were worth as much as they are. There aren't many this high and very few higher for whatever reason

Fantastic dime. Crazy amounts of die polish. While not rare like the 45 Philadelphia in FB, the 45S is indeed a bit harder to find in FB than the 45D.

Fun fact about the 45S: in addition to the Micro S, there is an inverted S variety, which I would estimate is about as rare as the Micro S (which is to say, fairly common).
