Is this cent attributable? Any helpful websites about early copper coinage attributes?is this type hard to find.
Per Grellman's book, this would be an N-2. Rarity 2, which is defined as "not so common." Usually taken to mean somewhere in the range of 600-2000 estimated to exist.
Ok thank you very much wow around 600-2000 not that bad for $15 I almost never saw it and almost went past it.i didn't see much other examples like this on ebay I looked through at least 100 in auction nothing there/ only two were buy it now for $100-$200 thats it.
iffin ye scower ebay....there are a few bargains..spent maybe 6k sand got over 120k retal..so it pays to look
Don't read too much into the 600 - 2000 figure. When it come to large cents there usually isn't much of a price increase until you reach R-5 31 - 75 pieces known, although there is sometimes a small premium for R-4 76 - 200 pieces estimated. There are "popular" varieties though when that rule of thumb goes out the window.
