never one this bad!! Fortunately, the current bid tells the tale. This one is so horrible its funny. The current bid is $14, I might bid on it for kicks and giggles.

I was actually watching that auction. (Toad tipped me off to it last week.) I collect counterfeits and I would have bought it but not for that price.

 

It is the very rare "big beak" variety.

 

I love the weight...0.9g. He can look up the mintage in the blue book but not the weight of the coin.

 

I figured you got it. I never checked to see who did win it. If you hadn't liked it, I was thinking of bidding on it but I doubt I would have gone that high either.

Well, it was advertised as an ex-jewelry piece. Fantasy pieces made for jewelry are seldom anywhere near accurate reproductions.

He's selling other rare coins. I wonder how many of those are counterfeit as well? IMO, a seller like that should be banned on the first offense over listing an auction like that and claiming it's real. Pathetic.
