I don't have a copy of the CPG in any form.

It's been out of print a while which is why what's available is being sold for high prices now.

Eventually they will release the new one and the nonsense will end.

And I probably still won't have one.
So much easier in my opinion if I want to looks something up to pull up Variety Vista ect. or a Google search even... and it's free, then to buy a book and go flippin pages.

 

My mistake.
The Kindle version is available for about $15 each on Amazon.
I don't have Kindle so it didn't occur to me to check for that.
I just looked at prices.

 

I have a Kindle and bought both books for it. Better than having two large books around, and easier to access.

Well it has been long out of print and see your comment "I haven't met a single collector that does not use the Cherry pickers guide." very high demand and very low supply means a very high price. Simple economics.

When the nest edition comes out it will be much more reasonably priced and it will cause a drop in the older editions as well until the new one goes out of print and the availability starts dropping again.

When ever I see the word "guide" I tend to believe that the information may or may not be correct.
The CPG has many misleading information that have been proven to been incorrect. Case in point 1829 half dime....for years posted as an over date ,extremely rare....etc...etc...then in one volume they said opps....the next edition this wont be listed.
There are so many sites one can visit that show and teaches one about varieties than the CPG.

Rubbish...there are 3 die marriages for the 1829 obv. 3 obv. 3 - rev. C. 3- rev. D & 3 - rev. F
The knob on the 9 is doubled there is no 9 over 3 or 3 over 9 for that matter.
