1956 D wheat penny planchet error?

    Ok, I have another weird coin.
    planchet error o.jpg planchet error r.jpg
    The coin looks pretty normal in these pictures, but instead of the rim being raised, it is indented. On both obverse and reverse, too. Does anyone have any ideas on what this is?

    Yes. Your Cent was previously encased in a Lucky Cent holder. The rim is damaged from the pressure forced all around it on both sides.

    Yes it has that weird look to it.
    It's no Mint Error of any kind though.
    We've seen others just like yours over the years here on CoinTalk.

    Just looked at it quickly that was my first thought now I see what you stated,agree/just damage.
