if you got 10 boxed proof eagles from the mint and send them in for grading in a flip how many would come back graded pr-70 from PCGS

Probably none. Take 'em out of the mint packaging and placing them in a "flip" runs the risk of putting scratches/rubs on the coin.

then how do people get the d-cam 70 proof graded, you cant get a coin like that in a roll of eagles.

Numbers used to run at about 0.05% getting the 70 grade. But with changes PCGS has made recently I suspect it may be up to around 5% now.

    Agreed

I've purchased several dozen proof Eagles from the mint and I can usually find a slight rim ding or a flat shiney spot on the Cameo portion of each and every one of mine. Even straight from the original mint packaging, a couple have even come out of their holders in shipping.

I would like to know this too. Is there anyway to make short term money off of these american silver eagles?
