I was at work last night and opened a roll of cents. I did a quick wheat scan like normal and came across this blank planchet. My first one so I was exited. :thumb: I assume it's not worth a whole lot but as it was my first find I'll take it.

Nice find. Ive only found one of these in circulation and it came in change at Taco Bell. I did find two more while searching through my grandmothers change jars.

Congrats!!! Funny - I was just looking at the blanks on ebay before I got on CT :) You can pick up cent blanks for a buck plus shipping. The interesting blanks to find would be the dollars - those are going for over $70. I was hoping to find some nice nickel blanks but to no avail :(

Anyways - its very cool to find one in circulation!

of course you could just get one from the mint! I have about 20 of therse left. They were donated to my scout program. I use them as prizes when a kid answers a difficult question

Hey, that,s cool. By the way, how do you get your scouts to sit still long enough to answer questions? ;)

What does it weigh? Is it copper or zinc? Copper will be 3.11 grams and zinc will be 2.5 grams. Great find!

I haven't had time to weigh it yet, haven't been home long enough. I'll post it when I do though, I'm kind of curious myself.

    Neat!

I have yet to find one. My grandpa found one though, back in the early 80's/late 70's.
