Got this coin from mark feld last year for $1200. Good deal. I had someone mention the hairlines on it, who hadn't seen it before, probably caused by either circulation or a light wipe. Doesn't bother me, because obviously NGC deemed it acceptable and so did CAC. I actually showed it to several people in real life who didn't even notice itwhen I mentioned it. It's by far my favorite coin, I enjoy it very much, especially the semi PL surfaces, and I should get it pedigreed mark feld! By the way, as i've heard, and experienced first hand, mark feld is a top notch guy. Honest, caring, he initially didn't want to sell me the coin and actually turned down the sale because he saw how obessed I became over coins that I owned and would rather have me upset at him for not selling it to me than to me be upset over the coin.

Eventually, well, I guess he changed his mind because he wanted to give me a chance, and a coin to enjoy, and sold it to me. i traded him my 1904 MS62 PCGS double eagle for it, as well as around $150. Mark even went beyond, after selling the double eagle he told me he made some profit off it, so he REFUNDED me like $50. That's what makes mark feld so great, he really cares. And he does this for everyone.

I had the pleasure to meet him , and GDMJSP the admin here (Sorry, sp?) at the phoenix convention huge show back in '08 here in phoenix since I took a class there, conservation, authetication, and grading, 3 consectuve 8 hour days of coin goodness. At the end we got to look at graded NGC coins and PCGS coins as well as many, many gold counterfeits including the omega $3 princess and double eagle. Brian Silliman is a great teacher and answered all my questions , I haven't been able to contact him lately though. He seems very busy.

Well, hope you like the pics!

Well struck, with enticing semi-prooflike surfaces which do not show up in the images. Rich in color, lustrous and quite appealing looking.

From one avid type coin man to another... That's one heck of a coin ya got there !

Definitely not the "same ol' same ol". Off the beaten path. The 1904 $20 you traded in, on the other hand... there's 100,000s of those.

Congrats ! I am quite certain no photo can do it justice. Enjoy !

Really nice coin. I don't think the hairlines would bother anybody much compared to how nice the coin is.

    Best Regards,

It took a lot of courage to come into this thread, for fear I wouldn't be able to leave once my eyes feel upon such a classic. ;)

    What a coin! :eek:hya:

Getting to see one of these always makes me want to get one but I'm addicted to my coppers so I will just have to be satisfied with getting to see them in other's collections. :D

    Thanks for sharing! :thumb:
