I;m not sure how much this nickel is worth. The "s" mint mark is to the SE of the "d", but it is smaller.
I am sorry but I can't see enough to help. Can you take a closeup of the area that includes the D and what you feel is an S? Thanks, Bill
Is this the area you are asking about? If so, it isn't an "S" mintmark, just one of those oddities where discoloration looks like something it isn't. But congratulations on your great eyesight! and welcome to the Forum! Jim
Didn't see what you were referring to until Desertgem pointed it out Although it does look like a small S I'll have to concur with Desertgem. I to have found many nickels with simular anomalies only to find out they were not what I hoped or wanted them to be. Good eye. Keep up the search.
