200x Roosevelt Dime (partially visible date)

    I picked up a dime in change the other day and the last digit of the date is only partially visible. Anyone know how this comes about? Worn dies perhaps?

    The chicken scratches in the area might imply a weak strike moreso than a clogged die.

    ^I thought that was die deteriation. I don't believe a weak strike alone would cause those scratches.

    hmmm actually, Grease filled Die. I agree with that now.
