Like ohmygollygees, if PCGS doesn't do a first striky thing on these, I am going to soil me breeches. :goofer: By the coin, and love it. The plastic does nothing for it.
Against what? The Italian lire or something? Dang, looks like I am going to be buying from those High Street dealers again this year me thinks.:secret:
He thinks he's investing even though I told him it could go either way. Buy and hold silver and gold; and pass it to your children. He wants to hold it a year and see what happens. I only have 2 slabbed coins from when I first started, so thats not what I'm about.
PCGS is doing FIRST STRIKE. They also have a online video of the 2009 UHR , about 15 minutes of some info from the top names in coin hobby....Hall, Bowers, Ruth and others. Go to pcgs.com Click on 2009 UHR video.
1189 U.S. dollars = 839.689266 British Pounds £27 gained from if I had bought it the day it came out. I'm still wanting more photos of the coin in hand etc...macros to shots of the coin on the a distant horizon. I'm affraid a 15min video of people just talking about the coin with no actual images doesn't quite do it for me.
Eddy, you better hurry up and make a decision. The price of gold is up which most likely means a price increase this coming Thursday from the mint. Gold was over $900 yesterday. It has dropped a bit today, but should make a rebound. I guess you could always wait and see how the price of gold plays out over the year, but you may find that it continues to stay up. Good luck. :thumb:
Sitting Uy, You are a funny character but if you have been lurking around coin talk, you should know that you never ever touch your coins. Leave this baby in its plastic capsule forever. At $1,200 find another coin to handle..even just a little.
Just received a new update from the mint.... my coin is on back order...... Nooooooo! Really???? Backordered?!?!?! Who would have thought????? New ship date is Feb 20. Honestly, I don't expect to receive that sucker until April or May.
First strike is a scam, you do realize that right? With the changing of dies (and they will have to change the dies very frequently on this one) there's no saying that the 100th, 1000th, or millionth can't be as good as the first one. All that matters is the condition of the individual coin, not when it was minted. "First Strike" is just a scam PCGS and other TPGs came up with to get people to believe that coins with this designation are inherently more valuable, thus worth forking over more money to get coins slabbed with "First Strike" on the label. Don't fall for it!
Mines in stock and reserved...... The book is back ordered to 2/6. They'll (hopefully) ship the book and UHR together.
I'm a newbie, my first order from the US MINT.Shipping changed from 2-6 to 2-20. I ordered it on the first day of release Jan.22. Is thiis normal?
I agree that "First Strike" has no practical meaning other than being one of the earliest ones struck, i.e., struck on day one or two. Some people want to be among the first to get something, like camping out overnight or for a couple of days to get the Wii or the iPhone when they were first made available. I suppose that it the Mint allowed it, people would have lined up for the first gold Buffalo or the current UHR gold.
Green 18... No,to the Guys & Dolls reference.Sky is the name of my gym, & Masterson is from the tv show Bat Masterson with Gene Barry.
Dude, I could have ordered mine two months after you and I would still receive my coins before you. LOL! Why are you taking that risk again after what happened to your FS coins?
