For those of you have read my posts and share my passion, it is no surprise that I search half dollar bank rolls for silver. This week my son and I found the nicest WL, we have ever pulled form circulation! It's a common date and won't make us rich, but we have never pulled a better condition coin from circulation!! Take a look.
Nice find. Makes you wonder how and when it entered circulation. After all, there is a reason most of the coins you find are so heavily worn - they've seen a great deal since the 1940's. So what is the story behind this coin... Maybe a child raided his parents coin collection and spent the coin on candy? Maybe a younger generation inherited some coins that they thought could simply be spent for face value - not realizing they were silver or had numismatic value? Maybe it accidentally found its way into a roll of more common circulating Kennedy halves? We will never know, but it is interesting to think there is a story...
