The one thing you learn about collecting things over time is that there is ALWAY another coin around the corner. Ruben
Ruben, I don't think that statement is accurate. The population of NGC in MS67 is 7/0 and PCGS is 0/0. The only other one on the market is over $1,000 and I picked this one up for $300. The problem is that it might not deserve the grade. Paul
Martin, Don't worry, its not a 67. Heck, its not even a 66. I really don't know what the graders at NGC were thinking when they slabbed this coin. Now the toning is actually nicer than the sellers pics and the luster is outstanding, but the surfaces are MS65 at best. Take a look at the huge mark right above the dome of Monticello on the reverse. I now have a new dilemna. I like the coin too much to return it but am not thrilled that I paid 10X bid for the coin. I noticed you changed your E-Bay ID from cointageus to chameleon-coins-auctions. Do you remember this coin? BTW, welcome to cointalk. Paul
Lehigh, I could not get past the black spots on it, but you answered you own problem. "I like the coin too much to return it"! Who has not paid too much for an occasional coin.
And still liked the coin. Personally what he paid versus realized auction prices is not bad. You never know - it the future this coin could probably go for more money. As long as Lehigh likes the coin I think he did good.
