Full steps or Bust?!

    Does full steps require 5full or 6full? this one appears to have 5full w/ the 6th showing. You tell me! thanks.[​IMG]

    There are many different interpretations of the phrase full steps. I take it to mean 5 steps because having all six is very, very difficult to find.

    its only a 71-D. I was just curious, nothing special about this coin :)

    NGC used to require all 6 steps for the FS designation but have since changed to two different designations 5FS & 6FS (see below).

    As to your coin, I have always found it impossible to determine full steps from photos. You really need to see the coin in hand. I will say that your nickel does appear to be a solid 5FS nickel.
