Hi all, Arizona Jack chided me for not posting something (you all know Jack, he's so charming and hard to ignore!) but I reminded him that I have been going from one coin show to another these past several weeks, and just returned from yet another show, this one in San Jose, California. It was a club show that has been held at the San Jose Fairgrounds the past couple years. I set up at this show a few years ago when it was downtown at the Convention Center which everyone agreed was a much better location. I heard a lot of grumbling about the fairgrounds location since it is quite off the beaten path and doesn't seem to generate the same amount of business than when it was in downtown. Even with my limited experience at this show, I must agree. This show was pretty slow and not one of my best, though I did a fair amount of business with some of my regulars in Northern California. I like doing shows in Northern California - they have good restaurants, friendly people, and mild weather. I look forward to heading back up there for the Santa Clara show in a couple months. Meanwhile, my favorite coin photographer, Todd Pollock (feel free to email me privately for his contact info), showed up so I gave him some more coins to photograph for me so I can post them on my website. He does an amazing job, is quite reasonable, and I recommend him highly. Any way, I thought I'd share some of the photos of these new coins here.

Todd Pollock, BlueCC Photos, I have a package for him because I simply cannot take great pics of color coins. Thumbs up on Todd's pics.

    Oh yeah
At the Santa Clara show, you MUST meet one of our members, JeanKay. It seems to me like you two gals would hit it off bigtime. Jeankay has the honor of CoinTalks find of the decade, a PCGS XF-40 1922 noD strong reverse, pulled from a wheat bag, I submitted it for her.

    Talk about girl power huh?

Terrific cents! All of them. Since you are a dealer in them , I won't ask the buy price of any of them, but were they auctions or private treaty? I am real curious how the matte prices are holding up. Thanks for the photos!

Hi, yes, all the coins are for sale and were purchased through various venues. The two overdates were actually in my own private collection until I recently bought better ones. And MPL's are selling very strong, especially if they have pretty toning. None of the pricing guides, including PCGS, are keeping up with the MPL market. They have become very popular - I think people are finally appreciating the true rarity and beauty of MPL's. Their mintage ranges from only 1,000 to 2,800 each year.

I did McIntosh's Sacramento show last November - that's where I met my fabulous coin photographer Todd Pollock. I ended up buying a lot of beautiful AU/Slider Lincolns at that show but it was not a great selling show for me so I'm on the fence about doing that show again (also, his next one conflicts with Central States which I'm doing). I did hear the show in Modesto in July is pretty good, so I'm considering that one. Anyone know much about that show?
