Don't know if anybody else here made it but there was a great show at the Holiday Inn, east side of Rockford today. About 50 dealers. At least 200-300 people packed in the whole time. Shoulder to shoulder no matter where you went and people were buying. I picked up some stuff that I've bid on, on ebay for more money and lost! Dealers I ran into were friendly and willing to negotiate. My friend and I had a great time. Came home with these: 1954-S: Another one for the album. One of two I found in the whole place. Been looking for a long time for just the right one. Much more mint luster than shows in the pic. 1937 Crown: I've bid on 3 of these on ebay equivalent to this one and lost all 3 for more than I paid for this one today. lol They would have been shipped from GB too! Didn't expect to find one there. I put the half by it for size comparison. I didn't know they were this large! It fit just loose in an IS Silver eagle 2x2. More to follow.....
My favorite deals of the day BU War nickels set: $75.00 The blue seen on the bottom corner is the reflection from my jeans. Also got my 2001 silver state quarters proof set........$50.00 Slight mark on Rhode Island Obverse, otherwise perfect. (No box or COA) Only need the big one now ('99)
Nice coins Vess! I am going to the Southern MN Coin Show in Rochester two weeks from today. My goal is to pick up some more Morgans in F-XF, Barber Halves, MS Wheaties and MS Silver Roosies.
Vess, I might have bumped into you, and never known it. I was also at the Rockford, IL coin show today. These are what I bought. The 1866 three cent nickel really doesn't really look that dull, but I can't get a better picture to come out. The 2009 ASE looks good, though. Hope I win something on my raffle tickets.
Hey SCN! Probably did. I guess I should have asked earlier and maybe could have met you. We were there from 9:30 to 11:30. It was a great show. Amazing selection. I'm surprised admission was free.
Hello Vess1 I went to a show at the Holiday Inn in Jackson Michigan. It is a small show ( maybe 15 dealers ) but always a good show. Never have enough money as my want list is always bigger than my wallet. Did get a 2009 ASE for 17.50 and three BU morgans for 30.00 ea. Lots of luster and few bagmarks. Ended with a couple of Washington quarter upgrades. You did very well with the war nickel set. All BU in a Capital plastic holder. Can't beat that. Gallienus267
