Fork Tail is where the split in the serif is very noticeable, unlike the example in the op's coin. At least I don't see it.
thanks Rock dude because i never really heard that term before Wow i learned somethink today cool is this the area in red you mean as the split? jazzcoins joe
jazzcoins; the cherrypicker's guide says the doubling can be found in mint sets on the date, LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST. They call it a variety.
Hi, I realize that and there is nothing on his (jello's) coin. The picture you used is the same a the one jazzcoins used.
Between the torch's south end, and the D of DIME sure there's something unusual, also the rounded inn of the Mint mark is not normal. Between the E and P of E PLURIBUS, there's 1 dot o two dots? Thank
\ What you are seeing Carlos are scratches from the plastic coin case. There is doubling on the coin yes ,but it appears to be die deterioration doubling on the profile and on the E and P of E PLURIBUS UNIUM and nothing of significance. Jazzcoins joe
Jello, The coin is normal....You are pointing out something that is normal.....for a 1963 D dime. There is no die doubling. It's time to let it go and just put the coin in a 2X2 and store it away. One of the toughest things to convince someone of is the normalcy of the things they are looking at when they magnify something to 50X its original size. Little specs, dots, movement of metal, you name it...it's normal. Normal means not unusual.... Thanks, Bill
Hi, Two forms of doubling with no value on the same coin. 1) Machine doubling 2) That's what a 3 looks like on a normal 1963 D dime. More pictures aren't going to change what is on the coin. There is nothing, zero, nada, unusual or rare about this coin. Thanks, Bill
On this one we will have to wait and see what Anacs has to say. I am shipping it soon as I find 2 more coins to be graded. stay tuned!
