Hmmmm. My order # is 30830161

(Not really. I slightly changed the number but it is very close.)

So what? I'm not in a hurry to get the coin - nor am I in a hurry to have my credit card charged for almost $1200. I'll have to pay for my two First Spouse coins soon enough.

I ordered at approx 3:30PM. My order number is 30850XXX.

Thus, the mint sold over 20,000 UHRs in three and a half hours.

As information to me, could you explain how you derived the 20,000 number of sales?

he subtracted the 2 and assumed all the sales during this time were for the uhr

Just checked the mint web site regarding my order:

2009 ULTRA HIGH RELIEF GOLD COIN 1$1,189.00 $1,189.00 In stock and reserved

2009 ULTRA HIGH RELIEF GOLD COIN BOOK 1$0.00 $0.00 1 unit backordered. Expected to ship on 02/07/2009.

Now, what I find interesting is that the option to cancel the order still exists (although I haven't included that little check box). Normally once a product is listed as "in stock and reserved" the little option box to cancel dissappears.
One other thing.....normally the mint would put the status of my order as "hold" for a few days before changing that status to "in stock and reserved".

Maybe they want to give me some more time to think this over?

On a 4 piece last year the same thing happened to me. Was in stock and reserved with the cancellation box intact. Gold was moving up much like it has in the last few days. I felt if it continued to go up, the mint would cancel my order and if it went down, they would probably fill it. I just said the heck with it and canceled my order

nope, on mine they reconciled the 2 dates to 2/6. Not a problem though.

Mine will be a quick flip, since I can't afford to own this one right now. Some dealers are advertizing asking to buy these at 150+ over issue price and mine is already sold.

Talked to him about it and he is excited and ordered one! 2/6/09 order fill date. Now he's thinkin' PCGS 1st strike, but nervous that he can't even look at it before sending it in. How does he know the coin he sends is the one he gets back?

When this coin first came out it was £893 to buy from the UK, as the pound has gained a little bit.

If I ever see the coin for less than £750...I'll get it.

First post, Hello all, I have beed lurking around, learning about this coin, I am a beginner coin enthusiest, not a collector. I got the buffalo last year, and I had to have this coin also. I can't wait to get it. It was fun jamming up the web site and seeing the slowness. Refresh with one hand and redail on the other. I never got through on the phone, And took about 20 tries to get done on the online order,

I have a really newbie question.

Is handleing this coin good or bad, being 24k and UHR?

I'm gonna want to hold it,, a little

Speaking for myself, I couldn't bear to handle this coin for fear of dropping or scratching it. I can sympathize with your dilema....:smile

    BTW....Welcome.

Has PCGS said they will do First Strike on these? If so, have they said you have to send them in in the unopened box or just have it postmarked before the first thirty days? In the past the Unopened box thing was for sets that contained coins that had been released earlier and the unopend box rule was to prevent someone from cherrypicking an earlier released coin and slipping it into the set in order to get a very high graded First Strike coin. As to getting your same coin back, they really have no incentive to make a switch. The graders aren't allowed buy or sell coins and PCGS has millions of coins a year come through their hands paying them fees. Why would they risk that and their reputation for a few thousand dollars?
