I have been wanting to buy a Nerva for awhile, and I picked up a decent example for what I feel was a good price. Nerva can be tough to find decent and cheap at the same time. (I will probably get another example later on that isn't cheap and is nicer, but this will do for now. ) I saw the price, so I grabbed it. It cost me $46 shipped. LMK what you think. NERVA AE 21mm. Antioch, Syria. IMP CAESAR NERVA AVG COS III, laureate head right. Reverse - SC in laurel wreath. SNG Cop 184, BMC 262. 21mm, 6.5g. Phoenix
I've been watching for an AE Nerva myself...haven't found one yet. The scarier the scowl the better on a Nerva IMO! Yours isn't bad for $46.
Nice provincial! I've considered collecting the SC issues of Antioch, but I can't seem to find them for what I'm willing to pay.
Kewl Nerva! I wish I had the time to learn the ancients, since I see so many in my Ebay travels and I always wonder which are the good ones to get. I look at the coins I collect and how much there is to know and by all the different ancients I've seen, I can only imagine how much it would take to learn them as well as I know what I do know. :goofer: Nice snab! :thumb: Ribbit
Phoenix, so are you going to collect Provincial issues exclusively or do you not care what they are at this point?... just curious.
I think I want to do a set of each emperor that features the SC reverse. But that might change tomorrow, lol. I guess we will just have to wait and see. Phoenix
