Anyone familiar with an EBay power seller that goes by the moniker to "tg"? Any dealings with or knowledge of this seller? Just trying to do some due dilligence.......7 rating and has had only 7 negatives in twelve months. Reviewed those and some were rectified and others were not disclosed. Most buyers had positive things to say.

7 negs in 12 months is not a good recommendation. I am assuming you mean the seller has a rating of 7 positives? Only 14 transactions and 7 resulted in negative feedback? I'd wait if you are going to spend over $5.00 Don't know how this seller got to be a Power Seller with so few transactions. Maybe I'm missing something..??

According to his profile he's got 4444 positives and 14 negatives since 1998. Seems OK to me. Can't please everyone.

While I have never dealt with him personally, I have looked at his stuff before. He has quite a list of negs/removed negs/neutrals that led me to believe that he consistantly overgrades whatever it is he happens to be selling (comics/ball cards/coins) If it was my money, I'd take itr somewhere else (and in fact, did). Also, the manner and language that he uses in response to the feedback he's received leads me to believe that if there is a problem you might have trouble working it out with him.

    Good luck!

Too many good ones to worry with someone who has 7 negatives. Either deal with a coin shop, go to a coin show or plan on returning some coins and loose your shipping fees when you deal with buyer having this many negatives. Since you pay shipping up front the seller does not loose anything if you are not satisfied. Most people don't return stuff because they don't want to go through the hassle so negative sellers continue to overgrade, etc.

You can sort his negatives here: http://www.toolhaus.org/cgi-bin/negs

I would narrow the negatives\feedback down to the type of product you are buying.

If he has 7 negatives saying he is misrepresenting grades on Morgan dollars, then be careful when buying morgans.

If he has negatives on "unsearched wheates" then be careful buying wheats.

But if his negatives are about wheats, and you are buying Morgans, it might not be a problem.

I used the above link to sift his negatives. A lot of his negatives seem to be about comic books. So be careful about comic books. BUT, his negatives about comic books refer to condition. WHAT DOES THAT TELL YOU?

    Since this is a coin forum, here are some flags pertaining to coins;

Extremely overgraded. Sent back for refund, will not answer phone or email

Grossly overgraded, fraudulent description of item. Seller will not respond

SNAKE OIL SALESMAN SELLING OVER-HYPED CLEANED & DAMAGED COINS

Bad Seller, Sold a graded Morgan Silver 1921-S, MS66, with no S on Reverse

the biggest case of fraud i have ever seen.AU50 GRADED A MS66. BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!

    What this means to ME:

Make sure you pay with paypal because paypal can get your money back. Make sure there is a stated return policy on the auction, and that you follow that policy to the LETTER.

    Expect an overgraded coin.

Don't pay more money than you are willing to burn from this or any other ebay seller.

Do not spend your lunch money with this, or any other, ebay seller.

Money you spend on Ebay is like the money you take to Las Vegas. It is money you never expect to see again. If you get something out of it, you are ahead in the game.

I noted that quite a few of his coins were slabbed and graded by PCGS. Does that lead any credibility to this particular lot I am looking at?

Doesn't matter, got out bid and I am not willing to bid any higher. Thanks for all the input.

IMO, a graded coin by one of the major grading companies is one of the best ways to buy on ebay. Unless of course, they have found a way to replace the coin.

Then there are those that put a coin in a coin world holder and pretend it is certified......
