    Hello,
I was wondering is there a map that shows which states have what Mint mark? P and D... Where does D start and end, and where does P start and end.
    Thanks,
    SM

Denver is supposed to cover the states west of the Mississippi and Philadelphia covers east of the Mississippi. States along the Mississippi will get a mix of both mints since they lay along the dividing line.

Sometimes one mint will start issuing new circulating coinage before the other. Be patient as this may be the case.

Sorry guys/gals but there is NO distinct borders involved, at least not intentionally. The coins are shipped to the Federal Reserve and they ship to whomever calls them out. There is no one checking mint marks as they leave the building to make sure they are going to the right states! I will agree a lot of D's stay out west and P's manage to hang around the east but I have seen banks here, less than 50 miles apart, get the new buffalo nickels in both P and D. It is just according to what is shipped to the Fed and how they ship from there and it works both ways!

when i lived in minnesota i could find a good mix of P and D's, as well as some canadian ;)

Made sense since i lived ON TOP of the mississipi :)

As a side note, if you ever are at a loss for a good vacation spot, and like nature, head for northern minnesota! State parks galore!

I see a lot of "P" mint marks for the state quarters in Michigan. I had bought the "D" mintmarks from eBay to fill my holes but that got expensive. So I don't bother with that anymore. I just buy 2 mints sets, one to bust open for the singles and the other I keep sealed. Also, canadian coins are very common here to get in your change.
