Hey all, I'm new to this forum, and have been searching penny and nickel rolls a few at a time just to see what I can get. A local bank in the area just installed auto counting machines for *no-charge* so no more need to roll. Anyway, I ordered $100.00 in pennies today, and have mainly just been looking for 'wheaties' so far, but I was wondering which 'Memorial' pennies might be worthwhile to pull. At first glance it seems like the 1968-74 S mints would be a good choice, along with some of the doubled dies etc (tho I'm not sure I'd recognize one of those if I got it) Just looking for some advice from others who might have more experience/advice than I have. Thanks in advance, seems like a cool place, later-

ps- i seem to average about 9 'wheaties' per 1000 coins so far-- is that about average?? any chance of Indian heads or gasp, Flying Eagles??? or would that require searching a much larger number of coins. Like I said, i'm just getting started with this, used to do it when i was a kid, and pulled a 1936 Buffalo nickel out of a roll and went nuts-- lol it's worth about .50, but got me excited again.

welcome to the forum marhjan. I like you am new to the forum (well, within the last few weeks or so) I am not sure about pennies, but I pulled a walking liberty half dollar from my first roll last week. got me all excited! So I got 20 more rolls yesterday and NOTHING!!! not one silver half. oh well, will keep on looking.

    Again, welcome.

Something else to remember when searching half rolls is to pull the 1970 and 2002-2004 Kennedy's since they were not released into circulation and command a premium in higher grades.
