So this may be a different sort of post, but I figured some of you might be interested in the artist I am featuring on my website. We're a community of collectors, but this week we decided to feature this amazing sculptor/painter who uses modern US coins as his medium. Check it out: http://www.collectorsquest.com/featured-week/tedstanke.html
I kinda wanted to cry a bit seeing all those cut up coins, but then I realized they were modern crap and no loss
Yeah, I was a little hesitant writing about it here, but I didn't think there was harm since they arent really collectible coins. Thanks for the nomination!
You plucked a few of my heart string. Did you ever see that house in Borum Hill decorated with Beads and Bottle Tops? Ruben
No, Ive never seen it. Where is it exactly? I imagine it looking like those traffic post mosaics in the east village.
I think it is more dramatic than that, more like your art. but I will need to dig out the photos I have of it amoung my 20K of photos of Brooklyn and the city. I was going to hook it up to http://www.brooklyn-living.com/ ruben
That's amazing!Reminds me of a place out in NJ called Luna Parc Total Alice in Wonderland looking place.
Yeah I think this guy lives there alone, but he has open houses. He also sells all this stuff he makes, like jewelry and whatnot.
