I observed an uncirculated roll of 1976 Kennedy halves in plastic coin tube for sale at a gun show table recently. Was out for 2 days at $13.00 for the roll, tube and all with no buyers!

  3. some stars are quite valuable, but most are in the $2-$5 dollar range. i sold one last year i found in one of my machines for $103!!! not a bad profit for a $1.00

Cool! :D So what makes 1 more valuable over another? Serial #'s?
    Thanks,

    Hello Everyone,

Found another '64' Kennedy Half in a roll today. I am lucky enough to get to see a lot of halves at the casino I work for. In three years I've pulled $60.00 face value in 65-69 halves and about $12.00 face value 64's.

My younger sister has all the luck, and little interest in collecting coins. Fortunately, she doesn't mind passing along her finds to me :D

Here's what shes pulled (and passed on to me) in the last few weeks:

    1945 Washington
    1941 Mercury
    1943 S Jeffereson
    1957 Roosevelt

Most of them show their age, but the Merc is actually in pretty good shape.

  8. mostly it depends upon the district the note comes from. serial numbers do play a role but they have to be just right. like all one number 22222222, in sequence 12345678, or what they call a radar, like a palindrome 14633641.

    happy hunting,

    michael

Well, I guess the parking lot can be considered circulation. People sure don't respect the penny much given how many can be found on the ground. Anyway, I used to ignore them but now I find myself picking up pennies from off the ground. Yesterday I picked up two pennies, a 1978-D and a 1968-S. I have needed a 1968-S to fill a hole in my cents collection. So finally I find one but it had been run over at least once. It was a real shame too. The coin had been in very nice condition, maybe AU. Oh well... It filled the hole until I can find a replacement.

 My wife came and sat next to me while I was writing the above message and she picked up my coin folder. When I finished my message I look over and she's pushing some of the coins into the folder with her thumb.   I had to take a moment to educate my dear beloved.

    2005 D Nickel.

Only imperfection I could see was two tiny bag marks in the open area in front of Jefferson's face.

    :) :)

I got a total of 5 Lincolns dated 1944-D, 1947, 1950, 1955 and 1957-D from change on Saturday. I got a 1961 Dime a couple of weeks back. It is about time, I was going through a bit of a drought after the flood back in October of last year when I got about 6 silvers in change over a three week period.

When I was in Orlando last week, my wife received a Keelboat nickel in change. I still haven’t seen any 2004 nickels in change, and I’m not sure how she got one: seems like I was paying for everything ! :)

She didn’t offer it to me, though. :(

I did get a 2005 D cent for my pocket change collection. Actually, I got three of them. You’d think one of them could be a P. Probably all from the same roll, though.

I was also hoping to get some State Quarter ‘D’ mints. I’ve only got ‘P’ mints for six of the last eight quarters, going back to Arkansas. Negatory, good buddy.
