Lamination Error on Silver War Nickel

    Was going over the mint marks of silver war nickels I pulled out of circulation today and spotted this one.

    Probably not worth much, but I think I can authenticate this one on my own (I hope).

    That's a nice find. Laminations are more common on War Nickels than on many issues but I have never found one.

    Yes, lamination it is! They are sort of common on war nickels. Look through a bin of them at a coin show or a local shop. You will most likely find at least a few. This is also a cool coin to find possible clamshell split errors. I looked at a stack from a bin and found one with a crack in the rim. When I fiddled with it, it turned out to be an 80% split!
