Silver coins I've found in circulation, I've just kept, no mater condition, because they are silver. However, Well over a year ago I started keeping high grade coins I find. Before I just kept/looked for coins I needed to fill a hole. As example, searching LMC rolls last week. Found a 1968-D in AU or higher condition. Don't need it, have one, but just had to keep it. Did not want to see it go back to circulation. Really nice but not old, never worth anything - only about 3 billion made. I don't mean I'm keeping 2008's even though I have about 2 rolls of each, but mostly older coins, great condition. Needed a 1939-D nickel, went to coin show and found 2 dealers that had one in AU+ condition. Only need one but bought both of them. Now I have a very big box full of rolls of mixed date high grade coins. Not valuable coins - mostly 60's and above. Got all the nickel rolls out last week and planned to take to Coinstar, but just didn't want to part with them after all. Other than maybe coin dealers - anyone else do this?

I do it to a degree, but probably not to the extent you have.

I collect Jefferson nickels, mostly 1938-1964, and mostly mint state. The problem is, I'm not just collecting a set of them. I buy any one that looks nice for a reasonable price. Definitely a nickel hoarder.

I also keep all circulated 1964 and earlier Jeffersons. I have several hundred rolls that I've purchased and found.

I generally only save silver and cents from 1981 or earlier.

I have one roll of BU 2007-D nicks I saved. I also have a box full of s-mint and 1959 cents that I hold on to.

Hey Borgoven, I do with Morgans like you do with Jefferson's. All of my Morgans are MS but when I find a nice MS for the right price I pick it up. It's killing me!!! Just can't seem to pass on Morgan's. Trying to "spread my wings" as they say and move on to something like Indian head cents. But it's all good!!!!

I love collecting rolls of uncirculated coins. I am not sure why, but I like the way they look and feel.

Has anyone seen these uncirculated coin rolls appreciating in value? Is there an investing play to be made in these rolls?

I understand plucking nice examples out of circulation. I do that all the time and I think a 1968 in AU is quite remarkable to be pulled from circulation. I is old, over 40 years old :)
