Could be legit. If it were machined, you'd think the zinc core would show. I doubt I'll bid on it however.

HAHA Frank, I figured this one would show up, haha. Frank and I shared a laugh about this one over PM.
If only I knew all coins resulted from grease filled Dies brought a premium like this....

When I posted this I hadn't gone any further that the top of the listing page where the price is. I have just taken a better look at the pictures and see some very strange stuff on the coin's reverse. What's up with all the bumps on the Memorial and in the field below? Those are usually markers for cast counterfeits; at least there's no other explanation I can think of for them being there.

I was all set to purchase that coin for the asking price of $999,999.00 but then I saw that outrageous postage of $10 and I just couldn't afford that.
    Maybe next time. ;);)

Sure there is - it's bubbles caused by the zinc under the copper. Quite common.

Did you notice that he as over $40 million of "buy it now"s listed on one page.
Sooooo, does that make the cointalk domain name worth $8,000,000 also?

C'mon now David. There have been countless pictures of coins posted here with the same condition. I'd bet you can go through your change and find an example or two.

I have never seen any coin with anywhere near the amount of bubbles that are on the subject cent. I count eleven below the base of the memorial and ten in or on the building. If these are so common maybe someone will post a picture for me or refer me to one of the countless ones already posted.

Look in your pocket change and find 10 Lincolns dated 1983 - 1989. I will bet half have bubbles and at least one is worse than the one posted here.

Tell ya what David - just go to the main index page, then do a search for the word bubble. You'll get tired of looking there are so many.
