Hello, I have my nickel set in 3 Harrison folders and I put them in a zip lock bag so dust and my dog’s hair won’t get to them. My question is will this cause any damage to the coins over time? Thanks
I think it will be fine,I keep my good coins in Plastic air tights and my lesser coins in Card board Flip coin holders and i just ordered 6 2x2 20 holder coin pages so i can store my coins in a Folder. But i think that should be ok,Its better then just leaving them in the open. Hi, and welcome Colleczor, The big question is which has the must sulfur or acidic levels? The folders or your environment? In some areas of the US/world the local air has more sulfur/acidic levels than the folders, in other areas, the folders generally are made of nonarchival sulfated materials and have a higher level than the outside. If you are the first situation, the plastic ziplocks are a good idea, if the second idea, you are making a toning "machine", but you can use non-zip bags to keep off the dust and hair. Jim
Thanks Jim, I hope I’m part of the world where it’s a good idea if not I guess I will have some nicely toned nickels.
