I’m looking to buy some coins with gold/silver from the 9th-15th century AD but I’m not sure where to buy them. Does anyone know of any websites or individuals who sell such coins? Im also willing to trade 1oz Gold American Eagles. Thanks!
eBay, and other well known auction sites are your best friend. dont buy anything without study. Post if you’re unsure, and stay away from extremely cheap options. @panzerman is our local GOD of GOLD, and he can probably direct you to some legitimate dealers. basically. When buying expensive and/or precious metal coins, do NOT go into it as a complete amateur. You WILL get burnt, often with no recourse. There’s a reason why gold and to a lesser extent silver is considered an advanced collection. The number of fakes is astounding and you need good experience to try to “cherry pick” authentic examples. my advice - stick with a site like V coins which is very legitimate, or private sellers like Frank S Robinson, for now.
I would highly recommend https://www.ma-shops.com/ Many dealers at this site have just what you are looking for. My best advice would be to buy the best you can afford at the time, this makes selling easier. Be wary of their "conditions" to buy from them. With this COVID19 situation some countries may or may not sell/ship if you live here in America. Not sure where you live. Just read the ads and take your time.
... and if they do ship to America, sometimes they label their package as “Roman coins” and you get your lot stolen in transit... @Orfew from Canada labeled his gift to me as “10 metal discs” which tends to get past any sticky fingers
