This is pretty strange and I’ve never seen anything like it. The obverse almost looks like a hand, or a flower, but it could be anything. the reverse looks like a coat of arms or a crest but could be anything either 12mm, 1.5g
I have no clue as to what your coin is. However, the coat of arms appears vaguely reminiscent of the contemporary Ukrainian coat of arms. Edit: However, I wouldn't be surprised if it were a Greek AE of some sort.
The reverse is a trident, upside-down - often on Syracuse coins. I can't make much of the obverse. ATB, Aidan.
Here's the coin with the obverse in the proper orientation (although the trident reverse is 180 out).
...Thanks, @hotwheelsearl, for pointing that out. ...Maybe, back to @akeady's observation, a Pegasus? Impressionistically in keeping with something from Syracuse.
Ah yes - Pegasus - the new photo' is much clearer Something like this, then: https://www.cngcoins.com/Coin.aspx?CoinID=50032 ATB, Aidan.
Thanks everyone! I had no idea it was a Pegasus but now that’s it’s oriented corrected, it does look rather clear. the condition seems pretty good compared to online examples - the sharpness on the trident is pretty good compared to the weakness on the Pegasus
