Counterfeit 1893 S Morgan It is the top right coin. A 1893 S Morgan. Maybe I should have removed the dates before posting so people would not have pointed out a 6 to 10 thousand dollar make believe Morgan, but the poor #'s in the date was the first thing I noticed. I wish I could post some better images of this slug because I was quite impressed with the looks other than the date. This slug is the same dimensions & thickness of a Morgan, with a nice reeded edge. It scales out a 25.6 grams. More then a full gram below a real Morgan. It DID NOT pass "The ring test". A very flat sound with no ring what so ever. When I held it in my hand & rubbed the surface with my thump, it felt slippery. Like it had a coat of butter on it.
The "slippery" feeling of the coin tells me it is a Chinese counterfeit. That is one of the indicators of a Chinese fake.
Funny, my first guess was top right and then I talked myself into the bottom right. Obverse pics- TOP right. 1893- the most valuable coin
i say bottom right, but whatda i know, im still a n00b to this stuff, the stars look odd to me on that one, but that could just be wear
They don't use 90% silver like the genuine coins. The metals they use just have that slippery feel to them. It's a dead giveaway.
Without reading the other comments, I believe the counterfiet is the one on the bottom right. Phoenix
My Guess top right, problem with rim at 3:00 and the left field seems stange. But I would buy an Ice Cream cone back in the day with and never know unless we put a Magnet to it.
Pictures are too small and clicking on them made them SMALLER and apparently lower res because they pixilated. Clicking on them again just gave me back the original small picture.
