hi, I have found a big coin and there's is some writings on it but i don't know maybe spanish and it's from year 1988 so anyone knows about it please tell me ..thx alot ... the image is attached...
This looks very much like 1520 half thaler (but I belive this is a differen denomination, perhaps a thaler?) from Bohemia, with obverse: AR . DOMI . SLI . STE . ET . FRA . CO. D . B with St. Joachim standing S I (Saint Ioachim), holding a blazon; and reverse: LVDOVICVS : PRIMV : D : GRACIA : R : BO : and Czech arms (lion rampant left). However, I cant say anything about authenticity of it. If it is real, it is worth a pretty penny.

i think it's not the 1520 half thaler,it looks only like it and the year 1988 is written too under the SI .....
Just for fun and information, the writtings are: AR(ma) : DOMI(norum) : SLI(comum) : STE(fani) : ET : FRA(trum) : CO(mitum - das M ist im O ersichtlich) : D(e) : B(assano) : (Coins of Misters Schlick: Stefan and his brother, Counts of Bassano). and: LVDOVIUS : PRIM(us) : D(ei) : GRACIA : R(ex) : BO(hemiae) : (Ludwig I, by God's Grace King of Bohemia). The original coins of this type were minted in St. Joachimsthal, a little city in Bohemia. I can't see the 1988 on the coin, but if it is there, well, that makes the authenticity question solved. Even so, I seem to remember such a copy auctioned for not a trivial amount of money.
I have seen a similar thing on copies of Dutch Provincial coins, especially on gold.One time I was shown what looked like a gold coin from 17th Century Utrecht,but I could tell that it was not a genuine piece,even though the fineness was correct.Firstly,it was too round (genuine coins are hammered),& I could see a small date '1966' on it.
