I haven't added anything to my note collection for some time now. I changed that today. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/scan0005-15.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/scan0006-14.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/scan0007-9.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/scan0008-7.jpg ...and finally this dog. I really wanted THIS one. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/scan0009-3.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/scan0010-2.jpg A lady came into the shop with these about a week ago. Lots more than these and several batcehs of consecutive notes. She wanted to know if they were worth keeping or should she spent them. The boss usually has me look at the "modern" stuff and I did. Told her in NO WAY To spend them. He asked me if "X" dollars was a fair offer and I said yes. Well, she needed to check with her brother. After a week I figured we'd never see them again then she comes in yesterday and takes the offer. Unfortunately the best note is a bit out of my reach right now. 1950E $10 G-*. Oh well, I'll deal with the dogs that I got.
very nice notes.:thumb: they look a lot like some that i have. that 1950 E $10 star is nice. i just saw one go for almost $200 recently
At least she did the smart thing and sold them instead of sending them to the bank or the grocery store.
Nice. And even if you don't manage to get that 1950E star, do you think you could check the serial number? There's a good chance it'd help with the star note survey....
Nice notes Clembo, but I have to bite on that last one. All I know is stars and low numbers, why did you want this one?
The 1950-E series was only printed for three districts New York , Chicago , and San Francisco ! These are somewhat of a rare note , and rarer in CU cond. and sell for about 2-3 times as much as others around this time . edited: to add that stars in this series are worth roughly double non-stars !!
GrimReaper nailed it Viper. Actually the 50-E was the note I was MOST interersted in. That note alone retails at $100. We actually had the G-* 1950E in CU as well but was a bit out of my current budget. Fortunately it went to one of our better paper customers today so at least I know it found a good home.
Very nice notes Dan, all CHCU by the looks of them - I bet your eyes went wide when you looked at these beauties Best Regards ~ Darryl
