Cast Semuncia and a Roman Game

    I was reading some info on Rome and saw this game. I die all the time. Maybe you can do better.

    Just to keep this a coin post, a snack from an auction today. The big cast coins were a bit too high, so I bought the smallest one.

    Greek Italy. Northern Apulia, Luceria. Light series. AE Cast Semuncia, c. 217-212 BC. Crescent. / Thyrsus with fillets; in field, L. Vecchi ICC 350; HN Italy 677f. AE. 6.04 g. 19.00 mm. Lovely untouched earthen green patina. Good VF.

    LOL, too funny on the game! I refused to sell my daughter...

    'Fun' game. There are lot of ways to die in ancient Rome apparently! :)

    Edit: after a few tries I got this: "With the help of your new adoptive father, you are able to successfully run for office. And your influence among both the wealthy and the plebs (as well as your considerable wealth) means that you quickly rise through the cursus honorum and are elected consul the first year you are eligible (42 years old). You hold office for the next few years, until you retire to your farm "
    Still have not got the option to sell my daughter though...

    Sold my daughter five times (not sure how many daughters I would have had in ancient rome) - but it worked out :)
