I have one that I found when my Mother died and am thinking about selling it but don't have any idea how or where or even how much it might be worth. I have some other silver but this is the only gold coin I have. Anybody got any suggestions where I won't get ripped off. I live in NC.
    Thanks......!

I don't have a digital camara but will try and get a picture taken of it so that I can post it later. I came up with the idea of selling it this morning and I live so far from anything they have to pump sunshine in here but when it gets here we have the beach and lots of water and beatiful weather a lot of the year so it's worth it and the tourist can't even find us unless their lost.

    Please post pics!!

Your 1844-D Half Eagle was minted in Dahlonega, GA. Its value is highly dependent on condition. A well-worn example is worth over $1,000 while uncirculated examples are worth several thousand dollars.

    Please post pics!!

The coin is in very good condition. I do not have a digital camara but will try and get a picture taken and get it posted ASAP.

    Coin collector's equation :

    "D" + Au = $$$

Translation : Dahlonega gold is very valuable. ;)
