My Peace Dollar collection which I started a few months ago is growing rapidly. I have taken a very interesting approach to assembling this set. I have no set goals at all. I am not looking for any particular look or grade. I simply look at Peace Dollars and if I like the coin's eye appeal, I bid on or buy it. It should be a very diverse set indeed upon completion. I have posted the three newest additions and the set in progress photos below. Let me know what you think!

At some point, I am sure that I will end up having duplicates, but I guess that is inevitable when employing this shotgun collecting method.

You just described precisely how I collect. Not if its rare, not if its valuable, but if I like it for some reason. Best of luck to you.

I was tempted to include this 1923-S in the collection, but decided I did have one criteria for the set.

Thats a very nice beginning to a set! I like the diversity represented. Sometimes I look at sets with uniform strike and coloring and luster, and to be honest, they're boring as heck. See one and you've seen them all. I like the fact that each and every piece you have there is different in all these aspects and makes for a much more ineteresting looking set of coins.

Yes, the first three. Take a whack at them.

It's an excellent set and I like your approach. There is a certain logic behind collecting every coin in a series in the same grade with the same look, but I like a more random and varied approach. Good job!

Not that I know what I am saying, but....

    1923- 63
    1927- 64
    1934- 65

Oh so close, look at number 3 a little more carefully, there are some slide marks on the cheek.

I am absolutely addicted to Peace Dollars at this point. I think I need help. Do they have a Peace Dollar Anonymous group? Here is the updated photos.

Already have my eye on a 1922-S and a certified 1923-S in auction.

Congrats Lehigh on a set coming close to an end. :thumb: As far as grades, I will say 64, 63, 65. I like the 23 the best out of the three, nice coins. :thumb:

Although I don't own any, the Peace is my favorite silver dollar series just love that reverse eagle.

Well I don't know if I could call 10 out of 24 close to the end, but 10 newps in 6 months is a pretty fast paced collection. This is my shotgun approach where I buy any Peace Dollar that strikes my fancy.
