A die chip causes LIBERTY to look like LIBIERTY since there's an extra I between the B and E in LIBERTY.
It's like seeing, yet not seeing, because we expect Liberty to be spelled correctly. I'm not into error coins yet. I like to read about them, but I don't look for them in by collection. I have a hard enough time just getting my coins in a holder, file them, and then record them. Thanks to all that clear things up for those of us that don't dig much into the coins. Maybe if I did, I might find something that can make me rich or put me in the poor house.
Collecting "BIE"s " and dates with die chips can be a fun side collection. There was a book written about the "BIE's " in the late 70's or very early 80's. It catolouged 1))"S of them.
I agree paddy, I got to putting them in a paper Roll instead of flips. I was kinda shocked I had such an amount
